Hybrid Cars Sweep Department of Energy Fuel Efficiency Ratings December 2004
Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency released ratings recently for the cleanest and the most fuel efficient vehicles on 2005. Hybrid cars have taken top 7 spots of the ratings.
Honda Insight(manual transmission) got best mileage with a gas mileage of 61 mpg and 66 mpg on city and highway roads respectively while Dodge Ram Pickup with gas mileage of 9 mpg got the last ranking for 2004 cars.
The other vehicle mileage in the top rankings was Toyota Prius with a gas mileage of 60 mpg city and 51 mpg highway.
Other vehicles which got best rankings in their class were Mini Cooper, Ford Escape, Honda Odyssey, VW New Beetle, Chevrolet Malibu Maxx.
