Hybrid Car Club Meets Sunday September 2004
Rapid City, South Dakota - Black Hills Hybrid Car Club will meet 2 p.m. Sunday at Fjord's Ice Cream Factory on Canyon Lake Drive.
This month's and next month's meetings will feature a "drive for MPG" on a pre- determined course through the Black Hills. Called the "One Gallon Challenge," the route is about 53 miles long and takes about an hour to drive, and participants will attempt to achieve 50 miles per gallon. Organizer Curt Finnegan said that he test-drove the course last week with a result of 58 miles per gallon.
