Florida Keys Green Living & Energy Expo February 2005A Non-Registered Visitor writes "I thought you would like to know about the Florida Keys Green Living & Energy Expo to be held in Key Largo, Florida, at Coral Shores High School, on March 12 & 13, 2005.Jim Kliesch will talk about hybrid cars during the Green Transportation lecture. Mr. Kliesch is the author of the Green Guide to Cars and the web site www.greenercars.com, which covers the "greenest" and "meanest" cars each year for the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (www.aceee.org), a Washington,D.C.-based think tank. The event features more than 32 workshops and 50 exhibitors, a hybrid car display, children's tent and area with solar car races, organic farmer's market, art exhibit of jewelry made from recycled items, Business-to-Business Reception, and K-12 recycling poster contest. It is co-sponsored by the University of Florida/IFAS/Monroe County Extension, Florida Keys Electric Cooperative, Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority, South Florida Water Management District and others. Among our 32+ speakers are 5 board members from the Florida Green Building Coalition, 3 from the Florida Solar Energy Center, 1 from the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy, a Commissioner from Sarasota County Government, 1 from Audubon Society, 1 from National Park Service and 2 from the Department of Environmental Protection.
