Honda's 100,000 Mile Hybrid Car November 2004We reported earlier on Matt Partridge's 100,000-mile four year-old Honda Insight, the highest-mileage example discovered in the UK, and how Honda swapped the old-stager for a new one. The 100,000-mile car has now had its brakes freshened up, been given new tyres - and a good clean-up - and is joining the Honda press car fleet, so that it can demonstrate the durability of the Integrated Motor Assist system. Of course, the more recent Civic IMA hybrids are much more practical than the Insight coupé, whose luggage arrangements are - to put it very, very mildly - inadequate. Honda is the only mainstream manufacturer to have produced two different petrol/electric vehicles, and it keeps saying that another IMA model, styled for the European market, "will emerge in the future". No further details yet. SOURCE: Car Keys | ||
